| Dive Sites Around Gozo With an easy entrance/exit and a maximum depth of 15m is it an ideal dive site for beginners. Small canyons hide octopus, Moray eels and plenty of scorpion fish. 
Double Arch ***** (Shore or Boat Dive) A steep rocky drop off indicates the beginning of this fantastic dive located at the north coast of Gozo. As you descend to 34m the two huge rock arches on top of each other appear in the distance. The insides of the arches are wonderfully grown with colourful sponges and corals. And the top at 16m is the best place to spot a school of barracudas and hunting Dentex.
Salt Pans is a varied dive which starts with a boulder slope that has resident groupers and passing Dentex and barracuda then leads onto a drop off with a shallow reef full of channels, ideal for hiding octopus and scorpion fish.
Reqqa Point ***** (Shore Dive) Reqqa Point is a rocky promontory on the north coast of Gozo. The beautiful and unique coast line is continuous under water. This is a excellent refuge for groupers, Dentex, barracudas and amber jacks. Many, many thousands of Damselfish and sardines may be seen throughout the entire dive.
Situated at Reqqa point this cave's entry point is at 36 meters and rises up to 28 meters and is home to a large of number shrimp. A perfect dive for experienced cave divers.
Billinghurst Cave ** (Shore Dive) Billinghurst Cave is found to the west of Reqqa Point. The top of the cave entrance is just above the surface and the bottom is at 27 meters. A long tunnel leads to a further cave deep inside the rock where the diver can surface. Immediately inside the entrance to the cave there are plenty of red sponges, soft corals, cardinal fish and hidden in-between the rock boulders conger eel and crabs are to be found. On the way back through the tunnel one can admire the deepest blue framed by the rocks of the cave entrance.
Cathedral Cave ***** (Shore or Boat Dive) The beginning of the dive on the north coast is through the beautiful Ghasri Valley- a spectacular narrow gorge, which widens as it reaches the sea. Around the corner the divers approach the entrance to Gozo’s most spectacular cave. As you dive in, you slowly ascent between the large rock boulders and finally surface in the cave. There is a crack in the cliff that allows air and light to come in and give the surface of the water this magical blue color. The ceiling goes up to about 10 meters and forms a huge dome.
San Dimitri Point **** (Boat Dive) This dive at one of the most imposing cliff lines of the north - west corner of Gozo is only accessible by boat. The steep, vertical cliff face above the surface belies that which the diver experiences just as soon as the dive commences. It is here where you find the best visibility of 40 meters or more in the Maltese Islands. There is every chance of seeing truly spectacular fish such as shoals of barracuda, tuna, Dentex and rays.
This unique dive with its 80 meter tunnel with depth from 3m to 25m and large enough to reveal a huge blue canyon to dive through makes a fantastic dive with a very easy entrance/exit from a slip-way. Once outside the tunnel you can decide weather you want to dive along the left or right sides of the drop off which goes down to 50 meter plus. There the divers can spot big and small groupers, hunting Dentex and Amberjacks in the shallower area of the reef.
Blue Hole/ Azure Window ***** (Shore and Boat Dive) The Blue Hole is a beautiful rock formation carved by nature and is probably the most popular dive site of Gozo. A spectacular and memorable beginning to any one of a different number of dive routes starts here. On entering this ‘hole’ the diver has access to the sea in the form of a great archway. Turning to the right you soon dive through Gozo’s biggest tourist attraction, the Azure Window which is the best place to see Gozo’s biggest groupers and also Dentex or Amberjacks hunting for sardines. As you come back into the Blue Hole have a look at the cave where you’ll find lots of shrimp and the odd conger eel.
Blue Hole/ the Chimney ***** (Shore Dive) Coming out through the Blue Hole arch you turn to the left. In about 18 meters the divers will find the entrance to a crack in the reef called the Chimney which is about 15 meters long. Diving through this crack you come out in the Coral Garden at 6 meter. The Coral Garden is the shallow sun lit part of this wonderful reef and you’ll see octopus, shoals of Salima, scorpion fish and Parrotfish diving side along with you.
This truly splendid Coral Cave has a very large arch entrance, which is a full 20 meters across at the bottom at a depth of 28 meters. Within the cave the diver’s torch brings to life the many different types of encrusting coral sponges in fantastic colors, virgin lace and other corals. On leaving the cave, the divers heads back towards the Coral Garden up to the top of the cliff face and finishes the dive in the Blue Hole.
Crocodile Rock **** (Boat and Shore Dive) Crocodile Rock is a wonderful site with a reef that drops down to about 30 meters and quickly increases to 50m plus. There is a small cave worth having a look inside and as you dive along the reef cliffs you’ll see shoals of barracudas, Amberjacks or Dentex. You also have the chance to see Gozo’s biggest grouper. Going up onto the reef the diver will find many small cracks and canyons to dive through where you may find octopus, moray eels and scorpion fish looking for shelter.
Fungus Rock is an isolated and prominent feature in Dwejra Bay. The fascinating rock wall drops absolutely vertically to a depth of 45 meters where you find the area covered in sizeable boulders – often sitting one on top of the other. These provide excellent habitat for the large groupers. On reaching the north - eastern corner of the rock, it is time to begin a slow ascent as you turn and commence the return journey. Here the underwater features become more interesting as ledges and gullies present themselves for closer inspection.
Situated on the West Coast of Gozo is another fantastic boat dive site. Diving along some huge rock formations you can spot lobsters, groupers, breams or even barracudas. Before you go back up to the reef through a small chimney and narrow gullies where you often see octopus, nudibranches and sea anemones.
This dive site is just out side of Xlendi Bay and is situated in a large cavern over the water. The dive is conducted on a boulder slope with a narrow gully leading to a small cave which two divers can enter and surface within. This cave is unique as it has a fresh water spring leading to it so the water temperature is cold and not salty.
Xlendi Bay is a long and narrow inlet that faces south – west. This is one of the best shallow dives Gozo has to offer. To those who are relatively new to cave diving you can try our very nice tunnel that offers a perfect opportunity for building your experience.
Xlendi bay and Xlendi reef is the main training area where we conduct our open watercourses. As the depth range is between 5m and 18m it offers the students the opportunity to experience a full range of training. As the bay is sheltered and there are no currents it hosts large numbers of juvenile species of underwater life.
Situated to the left of Xlendi Bay this dive site not only offers a drop off, boulder slop, cave and a tunnel, but also a long and narrow swim through which often houses moray or conger eels. The colors created in the tunnel by the right lights are not to be missed.
Ta Cenc ** (Shore / Boat Dive) Leading from the private beach of the Ta Cenc hotel this dive is one of our protected sites, which we utilize, in windy conditions. It is a wall dive that has swim through at the 25-m level, caves and also a shallow area where the luck diver can see sea horses and octopus.
This protected inlet is another of our better shallow dives. The dive site is primarily a sandy bottom housing Rays, Giant Ton Shells and flying Gurnards with rocky areas along the bottom of the cliffs with octopus and also sea horses. There is also a small cave which can be penetrated safely as it is not an over head environment.
This pinnacle situated at the mouth of Mgarr Ix Xini has a spectacular boulder slope dropping down to depths of 40 meters and beyond offering swim through with colorful sponges and pipe worms and then leading up to a shallow reef with gullies and canyons housing octopus and rock lobsters.
The Xlendi wreck was sunk for divers in 2000 on its way to the bottom it hit the drop off and flipped upside down thus making it a deep dive. The wreck is still a nice dive as there is still plenty to look at as well as a car at the 30-m level.
Xatt l Ahamar offers a number of dive route options, which range from boulder slopes to drop off, caves and shallow reefs where there have been sightings of sea horses. This dive area is situated on the south coast, which is generally protected from the dominant weather patterns.
Hondoq has a desalination plant near it and the inlet pipe is the main attraction of this shallow dive as it houses moray eels, octopus and cutle fish with a large sand area, which we often find rays and other bottom dwellers.
Hondoq Reef ** (Boat/shore Dive) This reef goes from a depth of 11-m to 3 meters with two swim through and many cracks and holes that hide numbers of marine animals and plants. Surrounded by sand there is also the opportunity to see rays.
Dive Sites Around Comino This over looked dive site has much to offer from a boulder slope giving refuge to small and large fish and a wall dive dropping down to 50 meters. Here schools of two banded bream dominate the scenery.
This protected lagoon is a shallow dive with various attractions. The start of the dive is through a small tunnel leading out to a deep rock bottom, which are home to octopus and other small marine life. Leading around the point the diver has the opportunity swim through channels onto a sand area full of resident sea bream.
Lantern Point **** (Boat Dive) Lantern Point is an interesting dive site with the start being a cave that opens at 4 meters with the exit at 18 meters. After the cave a number of large boulders offer many swim throughs which finally lead through to a drop off where you often see large passing fish and rays.
Comino Caves ***** (Boat Dive) Comino Caves is a complex of caves that inter connects to create interesting underwater scenery and memorable dive. During the dive Bream surrounds you and if there is left over bread from lunch we have the opportunity to f eed them.
Dive Sites Around Malta The Rozi is an old tugboat that was sunk 1992 as an attraction for a submarine tour boat. The wreck lies in 36 meters of water and situated just of Cirkewwa Reef which is a very nice dive as it has a large archway a long swim through plus a statue of Madonna.
Um – El – Faroud ***** (Boat dive) This wreck was scuttled in 1998 as a memorial for seven men who died when the boat was in dry dock. It lies in 30 meters of water and is one of the best wreck dives in Malta as there is full and safe penetration and the bridge is at 16 meters.
